“Collage is the noble conquest of the irrational,
the coupling of two realities, irreconcilable in
appearance, upon a plane which apparently
does not suit them.”
Max Ernst
I've been suddenly attracted to the enigmatic yet
powerful illustrations by young Spanish architect
and illustrator Willy Ollero a.k.a. Marisilla* who
works mainly with collage to create excellent
artworks strongly linked with fashion.
The Madrileña artist is amazingly able to add
her distinctive touch of special intensity to fashion
depiction providing her own poetic coating through
layering cut-outs, selected fragments from fashion
magazines pictures, patterns, clippings,
paper chunks and even handwritten phrases
for unique mixed media illustrations.
Loving illustration since her wee years, Willy
recently came to discover the appeal of web 2.0
through a friend starting to draw pictures in her
leisure time and posting them on her weblog
that soon received visitors and comments
becoming all-the-more lauded as a result.
Since then she never stopped drawing, got a
flickr, a brand new and constantly updated blog,
a tumblr account and now almost all her intriguing
illustrations are available for sale as art prints on
society6.com, the artistic self-emporwerment
web portal where member artists can easily post
different digital artworks to make them available
on the spot for sale and shipment while setting
price and size of each art print.
She's got the style it takes to transform fashion
shoots into a real work of art.
Don't you think so?
thank you, elisabetta for finding my work...
and liking it!
